We are currently busy with plans to expand the automation leg of the business to other industries.
The Timbersoft Kiln control system is PLC and PC based with full remote support, custom alarming and SMS to supervisor function.

Drying schedules for pine and Eucalyptus, Heinrich & Otto Mohr. Timbersoft specializes in upgrading of kilns and drying controls for drying SA Pine boards, poles, as well as Eucalyptus poles and boards. After the upgrade we assist in setting up optimum drying schedules for each kiln. We can also optimizing drying schedules on existing control systems (provided they are accurate and flexible enough) We have since our establishment in 2001 done Automation upgrades on more than 50 Kilns at various different sites and the designing and building of 4 complete kilns. We have done work in South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland and Tanzania. We also do Dutch oven designing and Saw mill consulting work. We are currently busy with plans to expand the automation leg of the business to other industries. Johan has 44 years Saw milling and drying experience, of which many years were spend developing a unique approach to drying timber at conventional and high temperatures. He developed his passion for drying in his early days of saw milling when he started questioning why kiln reject rates where so high. He has an in depth technical knowledge of the whole sawmilling environment. He has 15 years IT background of which the last 8 years was spend working closely with Johan, soft-coding his drying principles into the Timbersoft control system. He has experience in the programming various PLCs including Siemens S7, Omron, Unitronics and Delta as well as setting up and supporting SCADA systems like, ADROIT, ZVIEW and Citect. Henco has been contracted, since 2008, as the moderator for the Timber seasoning exams in the Wood technology Diploma and Bachelors courses at The Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. The rest of the support team, which gets subcontracted on an add-hoc basis as needed is made up of a full time Saw Miller/Wood technologist, an Electrical engineer, and a Millwright.
